Georg Kolbe's former studio has been transformed into a showcase for his work. The Berlin sculptor, regarded as Germany's best in the 1920s, mainly focused on naturalistic human figures. The museum features examples of his earlier, graceful pieces, as well as his later sombre and larger-than-life works that were created in accordance with the ideals of the Nazi regime. One of his most famous pieces, Figure for Fountain, is in the sculpture garden.
