Almost any evening, this huge and immaculately restored swing-era bar, across the courtyard from the theatre of the same name, attracts a smart, crowd. The beer-swilling lustiness, big wooden tables and primeval platefuls of meat and veg can make you feel like you've been teleported to Munich. In summer, the shady beer garden makes for an all-day buzz. Brunch is served from 10am to 4pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
