Karl Wannemacher combines classic German and French flavours with Asian influences in a wonderfully romantic dining room. Sample such wonders as horseradish terrine with smoked eel, or monkfish with a succulent saffron sauce and tomato. The wine list could do with more moderately priced bottles, but there's 15 per cent off all the food from 5 to 7pm.
