One of the most important venues for avant-garde theatre and dance in Berlin. The aim of its three resident directors, Thomas Ostermeier, Luk Perceval and Falk Richter, is to highlight dance, experimental contemporary writers and adaptations of classics. The programme also includes some English-language works - plays by Sarah Kane, Nicky Silver, Mark Ravenhill and Caryl Churchill have all been featured - and English subtitles are sometimes offered.
