Within the DT's two adjoining buildings are three venues displaying new and experimental work, from one-man shows and concerts to modern interpretations of Gogol, Shakespeare and Büchner. The four in-house directors - Barbara Frey, Dimiter Gotscheff, Jürgen Gosch and Michael Thalheimer - are innovators in the field; Thalheimer in particular has received countless awards and his productions are now touring internationally. Having celebrated its 125th season in 2007-2008, the DT remains an important and relevant institution.
