The Schaubühne has become one of the most important places for avant-garde theatre and dance in Berlin. The aim of its three resident directors, Thomas Ostermeier, Luk Perceval and Falk Richter, is to highlight dance, experimental contemporary writers and adaptations of classics. The programme also includes some English-language works - plays by Sarah Kane, Nicky Silver, Mark Ravenhill and Caryl Churchill have all been featured. As the theatre is becoming increasingly international, English subtitles are sometimes offered. Considered one of the hotspots for the theatrical in-crowd.
