Founded in 1971, this is one of the longest-standing independent galleries in the city. Nonetheless, it continues to be one of the true mavericks on Newbury Street, presenting a wide array of wild, provocative emerging and mid-career artists. Past exhibitors include Dave Cole, known for his sculptures in unusual media: his Money Dress was made out of around 1,000 dollar bills, cut into continuous strips and woven together. Stacey Quackenbush, who makes imprints from street-found lead and steel objects such as sewer covers, has also exhibited here.
