Hotel Buckminster review

Built in 1897 by architect Stanford White, whose firm McKim, Mead and White designed several prominent buildings in the city, the Buckminster is one of the oldest hotels in Boston. (The first network radio broadcast took place here in 1929, when WNAC radio moved into a studio on the premises.) Its reputation and decor are a little faded these days, but this friendly, comfortable, centrally located hotel offers one of the best deals in town; renovations were underway as this guide went to press. Rooms are equipped with microwaves and refrigerators, and there are coin-op laundry facilities too - making it a good option for budget and long-stay visitors.
