Time Out says

If someone asked you what your job’s like, you might say: ‘Yeah, bit stressful, but you know, the people are all right.’ Turns out if you put the same question to a bunch of actors you get the same answer – but with added luvvie-ness. This snore-bore doc follows the year-long world tour of Kevin Spacey’s Old Vic production of ‘Richard III’ directed by Sam Mendes (‘Skyfall’). Critics dusted off all their big words to praise the play. But we don’t get to see much of it. Just a little a snippet here and there of the power games, self-hatred, misogyny, mummy-issues and murder in ‘Richard III’ that make ‘Game of Thrones’ look like a Disney princess tale. Then it’s snatched away so we can hear more actors telling us that ‘theatre is walking a tightrope,’ or ‘I feel so supported on that stage.’ What you do learn however, is that Kevin Spacey is the kind of boss you want: whisking his staff off to a yacht (with a hot tub) on the Amalfi coast. Nice work if you can get it. More play, less luvvies please.
