Created in 1967 as a token of thanks from the local Japanese community, BA's Japanese garden is one of the largest in the world outside Japan. You'll find over 150 species of flora here, many brought specially from the mother country, and some on sale at the small shop next to the entrance. Once you've fed the ravenous ornamental carp (they can jump like Kobe Bryant), you can refresh yourself at the all-day tearoom which serves green teas and cakes. There's also a highly regarded Japanese restaurant. The highlight of each day is the Ceremony of Tea, which takes place at 5pm and is open to all.
