On Saturdays, Palacio Alsina hosts Big One, the capital's heaviest night of electronica. It's a vast venue that feels more like a cathedral than a disco. An upper balcony kitted out with tables and sofas allows a brief respite from the heaving mass of messy dancers below. Progressive house and banging techno are the orders of the night. International DJ sets are common on Saturdays, while Friday and Sunday nights are reserved for one of the city's best gay parties.
