Caix - situated close to a putting green, an evangelist temple, the city airport and the river's most polluted waters - is as surreal as the BA club scene gets. The place is at its most charged when the rest of the city is fully wound down. At 9am on Sunday morning, hundreds of indefatigable, sweat-sodden clubbers descend into a world of unrepentant hedonism, where most remain until the DJ pulls off his headphones sometime around 3pm. If the heat on the dancefloor becomes too much, try the airier second room, which looks out across the heads of a scattering of bewildered fishermen.
