The museum's main collection comprises gaucho motifs and other elements of Argentina's rural past. Two buildings off a patio are hung with mate gourds, spurs, weapons (especially knives) and other gaucho paraphernalia. There's also a reconstruction of a pulpería, the tavern-cum-grocer's shop that was the focal point of 19th-century country life. The museum also features exhibits inspired by matters of Argentinian history.
