This cosy gallery on UCT's Hiddingh Campus is part of the Michaelis School of Fine Arts, which has been around since 1925. Apart from serving as an exhibition space for its students (the fourth-year final exhibition is an annual highlight in the art community), it's also seen its fair share of de jour local and international artists through the years. Being the only gallery in the country dedicated to video art, it regularly features head-bending conceptual film and multimedia pieces, and has hosted work by the internationally acclaimed Turner Prize-winning artist Steve McQueen.
