This past winter (it's past, right?) forced many of us into dull environments as we avoided the outside. Summer is a saving grace leading to the revitalization of the explorer within, and ACTIVATE is prepared to get the party started as they transform alleys in downtown Chicago to an arts festival.
For only five nights throughout summer, experience artwork, DJs and interactive light shows for an immersive, pop-up party. This creative happy hour welcomes folks to dressed up alleys. It's not as dank as it sounds. Around 2500 guests attended last fall’s ACTIVATE in Couch Place, the brick-paved thoroughfare behind Oriental Theater. The success of the event led to this expanded series at Couch Place, Sullivan Center and SAIC.
The first event takes place in the Sullivan Center alley on Monroe Street between Wabash Avenue and State Street on May 1. This night is all about the "death of winter and rise of spring."
The subsequent alley shows land Jun 5, Aug 1, Sept 17 and Oct 16 from 5–10pm. Guests who RSVP on the Chicago Loop Alliance website receive a complimentary beer or wine.
