"The Way of the Shovel: Art as Archaeology"

Focusing on work created after 2000, "The Way of the Shovel" demonstrates how contemporary artists—in this case, those who've produced work after the year 2000—mine the past to both recall and challenge various histories. This multifaceted exhibition, organized by Dieter Roelstraete, unearths artists' interest in history, archaeology and archival research-fields of study that informed some of the most highly regarded art of the last decade.
