    Time Out Chicago / Issue 154 : Feb 7–13, 2008
    The dating issue

    Date Todd

    Todd Tubutis, 37
    Andersonville, museum exhibitions manager

Excerpts from Todd’s date have been posted! See how the date went by clicking here.

Todd is the kind of guy every mom wishes her gay son would date. This laid-back, longtime Andersonville resident enjoys films, plays, gallery openings, dinner parties and Midwestern road trips, and is looking for a guy who enjoys the same (if you happen to be a Paul Rudd–Justin Theroux hybrid with Anderson Cooper’s salt-and-pepper hair, that wouldn’t hurt, either). He’s the permanent exhibitions manager at the Field Museum and also holds an M.A. in anthropology from the University of British Columbia; he also taught cultural anthropology in Hungary. Here’s why he says he’s a great date: He’ll listen, make you laugh and treat you to his all-time favorite food, a cheeseburger.

Says Novid Parsi, senior editor “Todd’s a loyal friend and talented conversationalist—whether the topic is outsider art, politics or the waiters at T’s. And he’s got enviable Hugh Grant hair.”

    In his own words

Dream job To be that guy who narrates the major motion picture trailers

On a Sunday morning, I am most likely to be found Drinking coffee on the couch, listening to music and considering my brunch options

My last ex and I Dated for several months. Before that, I was in a relationship that lasted two years.

Trait I value most in a mate is The ability to make my heart skip a beat when I least expect it or obscene wealth (either one, really)

This year I resolve to Elect a better President.

Era in American history I wish I was alive to see Following Thomas Jefferson around while he wrote, invented things and traveled to Paris

AWWWWKWARD! I think the video portion of this video date idea would actually be much better served as sort of a few moments with each person before the date, a couple FUN less awkward moments during, the an follow-up afterwards. Yeah, I am talking Chuck Woolery format here, but I am just saying if you can get the resources to do it--then do it. Good effort otherwise Time Out.

If I was gay, and not already married to Beth, then I would definitely date Todd. Or David, for that matter. Or possibly the dog, but just as a friend.

If I wasn't already married to a charming, handsome, funny, smart guy, I'd marry charming handsome funny smart Todd. And if I was a boy. And if I was gay. And if Todd said yes.

What a great guy. Ask about his cooking specials like "soup". He'd give you the shirt off his back but would probably want you to take it off

Any guy would be thrilled to have a few hours of Todd time. He's a dreamboat. Smart, super funny, easy going, gorgeous, great dresser, and a good eater!
