In colder weather, those with a nose for well-made drinks pack into this sliver of a bar and put up with incessant elbowing—all for a few fantastic gimlets (or sidecars or fruit-infused vodkas). Once spring hits, though, those same cocktail fiends clamor for a not-so-comfy metal chair along the exhaust-choked sidewalk that offers a not-so-lovely view of Ogden Avenue, accompanied by the soothing sounds of the nearby Kennedy Expressway. Not the most idyllic setting, true, but the consistently killer drinks and the proximity to the Silver Palm’s po’ boys and cheeseburgers make this one of the best patios in town. (And after, say, your third potent gimlet, the intersection of Ogden and Chicago avenues becomes quite the magical place.)
