After Lisa's date
Lisa writes us a "Dear John" letter
Dear Time Out Chicago:
Thank you for arranging our recent visit to Lincoln Square Lanes. As usual, Lincoln Square Lanes offered all of the warmth and ambience of an Alpine sanatorium. The staff was quite accommodating, even inviting our videographer to visit the pin-setting machinery behind the bowling lanes. Since timing prevented us from bowling on camera, the videographer declined, despite how incredibly awesome this would have been. It probably wouldn’t have ruined anyone’s life to ask me if I wanted to go back there myself, but this is not a time for finger pointing.
Although my date and I maintained a friendly conversation while we bowled, we never reached the level of excitement of, say, an episode of The Amazing Race, or even Gilmore Girls. I really miss Gilmore Girls, don’t you?
I digress. I guess I am trying to say that I appreciate your efforts, but I don’t think this is going to work out. The date that you selected was kind and gracious, but I think it would be best if I went back to doing this on my own. No hard feelings, okay?
All the best,
Lisa
PS: The video you created was quite evocative. It was very Cassavetes meets Warhol meets Blind Date.
Second date? No.
