    Time Out Chicago / Issue 154 : Feb 7–13, 2008
    The dating issue

    Date Dawn

    Dawn Ansay, 29
    Albany Park, sales consultant

Excerpts from Dawn’s date have been posted! See how the date went by clicking here.

This ebullient Filipina has one crammed BlackBerry. She quit her job as an ER nurse several years ago to become a full-time sales consultant for a pharmaceutical company, is director for a nonprofit hip-hop dance troupe called Culture Shock Chicago and can break-dance like nobody’s business (wait till you see her backbend six-step). When she’s not working, she’s out walking her Old English sheepdog, Braveheart, and her Lhasa apso–poodle mix, Chase; hanging with her family; and traveling to favorite locales such as Rome, Maui and Belize. But Dawn is also looking for some downtime, especially with a guy who is stable, sweet and intelligent.

Says Jen Kester, copy chief “Aside from her many talents, Dawn is a warm, generous individual. She’s the only person I know who won’t celebrate her 30th birthday partying in Vegas or getting drunk at some bar; instead she’s throwing a fund-raising show—all by herself—for a children’s pediatric charity. Dawn exudes class and kindness, but always with her trademark wicked-funny sense of humor and sass.”

    In her own words

Dream job To be a sports agent. I grew up playing and watching sports. I even used to collect basketball and baseball cards but eventually traded them for nail polish and purses.

Guilty pleasure Caffeine. Three years of pumpkin-spice lattes and soy chais are starting to add up.

If I were Daley, I would change The Chicago Public School system. Teachers are underpaid for the job they do and there is a lack of resources to benefit kids.

Vintage piece of clothing I refuse to give up My grandfather’s ski vest. He passed away in 1995 and even though I don’t wear it, I’ll never give it up.

My last ex and I Broke up more than two years ago. He was my ex-fiancé and left me alone when my grandmother was dying and I needed him the most. Not marrying the wrong man was one of the best things that ever happened to me because it helped me find myself. I’m stronger, more independent and happier than ever.

There was a tie for bowling. So we sent one couple bowling and another to Juicy Wine Co.

I thought the public voted for BOWLING! That's not fair that TOC does not comply with the results of the contest!!!

I'd totally date you, but I'm married and it's against the rules of decency. But if I was a slimeball, we could hook up. You are my biggest fan.

Wow... you're like a rare delicacy! A lady that really has values and experiences life. It's a shame that someone like you will be swept off your feet shortly and the both of you will enjoy your adventures together. If I wasn't busy trying to get where your at in life I would take the time and win your heart!
