As the number of arena-rock acts we’re willing to schlep to Tinley Park to hear keeps dwindling, our lakefront flying saucer appears poised to scoop up the best of what’s left from the sound-challenged suburban shed. First Midwest, now on its fourth name, may also be on its last legs as a viable Chicago-area venue now that Soldier Field’s getting more aggressive about booking bands with the help of promoter C3 Presents and looking at smaller potential seating configurations.
