    TOC Getting There Contest 2008

Time to get moving and enter this year's TOC Photo Contest, with a theme that encompasses all the transit modes Chicagoans rely on to move from point A to point B—and beyond. Capture the essence of Chicago transit, rapid or otherwise, and we'll choose our favorite shots to appear in the magazine and online, and award fabulous prizes to our top winners.

After we've chosen our favorites, they'll appear in issue 182, on sale August 21.

Meanwhile, visit our Flickr photo group at flickr.com/groups/tocgroup/ and add your photos to the pool with the tag "gettingthere." We'll be picking the best shots of the city for a new feature on our website.

Javier Ayala; Wilson Skate Park, Wilson Street and Lake Shore Drive.

CONTEST RULES: Send digital photos (300 dpi or higher resolution) to photocontest@timeoutchicago.com; prints and CDs with a printout of all the images should be submitted to: TOC Photo Contest, Time Out Chicago, 247 S State St, 17th floor, Chicago, IL 60604. Original photos only. Limit five submissions per person. Deadline for submissions is midnight August 3. TOC is not responsible for submissions, and entries will not be returned. Competition is open to any U.S. resident (unless otherwise stated) except employees of Time Out Chicago and sponsoring organizations, their agents or anyone directly connected to these promotions. No purchase required. Winners must be 18 years of age or older. Prizes may not be sold, traded, transferred or refunded. Any and all federal, state and local taxes are the responsibility of the winner. If for any reason winners are unable to use prizes within the time specified, the participating organizations are not responsible for providing replacement prizes. No make goods will be given in the event of a canceled or rescheduled event. Winners will be selected at the sole discretion of Time Out Chicago. The decision of the judging committee is final. Entrants agree to cooperate with publicity that may arise. Time Out Chicago reserves the right to publish all photos submitted in print or online now and in the future.

I am a California resident but I travel to Chicago from time to time. Last Spring I was in Chicago and took some pics, my question is: do I need to be a Chicago resident to participate in the pic contest or is this open to everyone? Thank you.
