Bangkok Dangerous (September 5)
Briefing Thailand’s Danny and Oxide Pang remake their 1999 movie of the same name about a hit man (this time played by Nicolas Cage) who has a crisis of conscience.
Accessories to the crime Cage sports Tom Hanks–in–Da Vinci Code hair.
Gory details The protagonist is hired for a political assassination.
Real-world import Guaranteed to confuse video-store customers trying to decide which Bangkok Dangerous to rent
Possible upside Could make good use of the city of Bangkok, which doesn’t get a lot of play on American screens
Possible downside The Pang brothers’ The Eye (2002)—and for that matter, its American remake from earlier this year—had viewers fighting to keep their eyes open.
