Rollin’ with the homies Thanks to his time spent as an interior designer at the Merchandise Mart, Ripley Worthy has met a lot of interesting local designers. And now he’s featuring many of them in this new Lakeview home-accessories shop. With prices appealing to renters on chain-store shopping budgets, this boutique includes dishware from the hip Circa Ceramics ($18–$70), Chicago cityscape prints by Blair Harvey ($40–$80) and even Worthy’s own line of salvaged furniture reupholstered with scraps he collects at the Mart. Sourcing everything locally, Worthy likens his store to a farmers’ market, but for home-decor goods. 3327 N Broadway between Aldine Ave and Buckingham Pl (773-472-0548, homeboychicago.com).

I just visited Homeboy for the first time and was really impressed with the variety of home accessories that are made right here in Chicago. I would really encourage anyone who's in the market for home furnishings to take a look here before heading to the big stores like CB2, and others. You'll find much more unique items for sale and the owner is pretty cute too! Bonus!
