El: Brown to Montrose. Bus: 22 (24hrs), 50, 78, 145. Brunch (Sat,Sun), dinner. Average main course: $15.

Shochu The folks behind Deleece are taking a cue from Japanese izakayas (gastropubs) with a grazing-geared menu of small plates, sushi and yakitori skewers. The namesake liquor is served straight, as well as blended into cocktails with fruit purees and teas. 3313 N Clark St between Aldine Ave and Buckingham Pl (773-348-3313). Veerasway Next door to sibling Sushi Wabi, this Indian attempt looks to sex-up the fiery cuisine with snazzy street snacks, modernized classics and cocktails like a spiced-rum lassi with fresh mango puree. 844 W Randolph St between Green and Peoria Sts (312-491-0844). El: Green to Clinton. Bus: 8 Halsted, 20 Madison (24hrs). Lunch (Mon–Fri), dinner. Average main course: $10.

El: Brown, Purple (rush hrs) to Chicago, Red to Chicago/State. Bus: 66 Chicago (24hrs), 156 LaSalle. Brunch (Sat, Sun), dinner. All you can eat: $49.50.
