    2008 Eat Out Awards

    Critics' picks

DROP-DEAD DELICIOUS A slave to season, Sepia booze maestro Peter Vestinos incorporates winter’s blood oranges into his Blood Orange Pisco Sour and his Blood and Stone cocktail.
    Photo: Donna Rickles

Best Modernizer of the Classic Cocktail
    Peter Vestinos of Sepia

To put your own spin on an Old Fashioned, a Manhattan or a Moscow Mule, first you have to know that classic concoction inside and out. Sepia bartender Peter Vestinos is well versed in his profession’s past, and he’s graduated from mastering seemingly simple cocktails to giving a mojito a hit of earthy bitters and splash of cava, using rosemary–brown sugar syrup to sweeten a Dark ’N Stormy, and infusing bourbon with vanilla bean and coriander to add dimension to an Old Fashioned. With tricks like these, he knocks the dust off the classics and keeps us sipping into the future. Look for a new, heavily floral drink menu in late April. 123 N Jefferson St, 312-441-1920.

I HATEclicking on each restaurant --this is so tedious I won't be back-- I imagine that your advertisers buy space according to how many clicks you can FORCE your readers to go through to get anywhere...and that's why you have made this site impossible for your readers--better to find a less annoying way to increase revenue... This site is RIDICULOUS!

You want a comment on the article? No can do. When I see I have to wade through at least 20 pages I just stopped at page one. What are folks thinking? Have you no respect for those who visit your site?

Golly, the set-up of this article is painful and exceedingly user-unfriendly. A one-page list with links to details would be a lot more usable, as others have commented.

We live in the south suburbs and are looking for somewhere "new" to go to for our anniversary. What do you think of this restaurant, and is it worth the trip? Thank you. We are going tomorrow eve.

I agree that trying to read this article is the pits on this new site. Very slow to load, and that's especially annoying when there's only one paragraph per page. Big thumbs down.

The new beta site.. yuk! There isn't enough time in my life to view your articles one at a time. And I have a fast internet connection. On a smartphone forget about it. The search engine went from terrible to horrendous, and I was just getting started on figure it out.
