    Time Out Chicago / Issue 167 : May 8–14, 2008
    Alfresco eating & drinking

Best view of...360 degrees of awesome

Great food, tasty drinks, a cool crowd, a gorgeous space…these spots prove you can have it all.

    OTHER FAVORITES
Avenue M (695 N Milwaukee Ave, 312-243-1133) A lush layer of ivy covers one wall, white lights shine in the pear trees and chef Mariano Aguirre cooks crab cakes in the kitchen. Who says paradise is lost? —David Tamarkin

Japonais (600 W Chicago Ave, 312-822-9600) Slicksters lounge on rattan love seats under gauzy white fabric at this hot spot’s riverside patio, where beautiful people sip tropical fruit cocktails and nibble stellar sushi. To choose from the full menu, head to the upstairs patio. —Heather Shouse

BOKA (1729 N Halsted St, 312-337-6070) Wooden fences lined with white lights, a towering oak tree and candle-topped patio tables make for a romantic setting. But chef Giuseppe Tentori’s contemporary eats and pastry chef Elizabeth Dahl’s sweets are too good to share with your schnookums, no matter how swooney you feel. —Heather Shouse
