CLASS ACT When Bar 1 Events acquired the space for its new bar Fion, the owners knew right away it couldn’t be like their other bars. It was too small to house the number of televisions that their sports bars (McGee’s, Duffy’s, Redmond’s, etc.) do, not to mention the rowdy crowds those televisions attract. So they focused on taking cues from their quieter bar, Maeve. The result is a loungey wine and martini bar, with marble floors, mocha-colored wood walls and a focus on boutique wines and classic cocktails. But if that gets a little too classy for you, you’re in luck: Duffy’s is right next door. 426 W Diversey Pkwy between Sheridan Rd and Pine Grove Ave (773-549-5400).

the general manager who runs this place is unprofessional and openly racist.
he told me (after we'd declined his offer to chug wine out of his carafe...), "all you Asian girls are the same, you marry our friends and then our friends aren't allowed to hang out with us any more." when challenged on that, he actually *defended* this BS. then, when i didn't tip them very much (leaving a note saying i was offended) he charged me more than i'd signed for! we won't be going back.
