Tony Stark’s video-game outings haven’t exactly been cutting-edge: Relegated to supporting-character status in past Marvel game adventures, the cool exec with the heart of steel finally gets a chance to strut his metal-alloy stuff. The plot parallels that of the upcoming movie, taking Stark from weapons manufacturer with a guilty conscience to high-flying superhero trying to rout a global arms-deal conspiracy. As you punch tanks into smithereens, yank anti-aircraft missiles out of their paths and lob them back at the bad guys, you quickly realize that 400 pounds of battle armor really can turn a playboy engineer into a one-man army. While facing down signature nemeses like Titanium Man and Whiplash, comics fans will thrill to playable versions of classic Iron Man suits from the character’s past; better yet, each suit sports unique weapons and attacks. Personally, we’re still hoping that the go-go jet skates from the late ’60s will make an appearance.
