Of all the neighborhood bars trying to make rambling Ashland Avenue feel more homey, this gem is among the homiest. Art Deco touches abound and the mood is consistently upbeat, chatty and sociable. The twenty/thirtysomething regulars live on the cusp—they’re not quite Lakeview and not quite Ravenswood, which suits us just fine.

I've been a Long Room regular for 10 years now and am blown away by the updates to my favorite beer bar. The refreshed look to the space, the relaxed coffee house vibe they've added to the daytime, and the free wifi, have elevated my favorite bar to also being my favorite out of office workspace. The drinks (from beer, to coffee) are on point and the food is equally outstanding.
