Chicago actor Joe Foust today announced the establishment of a memorial bike ride to commemorate the local theater community's devastating wave of losses to illnesses and accidents in recent months. Among that group was Foust's wife, actor Molly Glynn, who died last September after being hit by a falling tree, knocked over by a sudden storm while the two were biking the North Branch Trail in the Cook County Forest Preserves.

The Chicago Theater Memorial Bike Ride will kick off September 19 at 10am and run the Lakefront Trail from Rainbow Beach Park north to Burnham Park, just north of Promontory Point, then double back to the starting point, a total of 12 miles. Registration is a suggested minimum donation of $25, with proceeds going to The Actors Fund. Joining Glynn on the list of 26 artists and other members of the community being remembered are Megan Betti, Daryl Blalock, Mark Bolan, Woody Bolar, Molly Campbell, Jason Chin, William Clifford, Eric Eatherly, Matthew Gunnels, Joel Lambie, Roy Leonard, Margaret Lewis, Frank Mahon, Erin Myers, Trinity Murdock, Julia Neary, PJ Paparelli, Sheldon Patinkin, Andrew Patner, Nana Shineflug, Russ Tutterow, John Walski, Sati Word, Brenton Wright, and Bernie Yvon.

In related news, a public memorial service for Tutterow, the longtime artistic director of Chicago Dramatists who passed away in May, has been announced for this Monday, July 13, at 6:30 at the Goodman Theatre.
