Food truck fests are returning to Daley Plaza and Willis Tower

One sure sign that warmer weather is on its way to Chicago is the appearance of food trucks, many of which come out of hibernation once the mercury starts rising. Last year, Chicago’s Small Business Center and the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection organized a series of food truck festivals in Daley Plaza and in front of the Willis Tower—they were so well-attended that the fests are coming back in 2016, beginning in March.

This year, the events will run from 11am to 3pm, with weekly occurrences in Daley Plaza and monthly stops in front of the Willis Tower. Each food truck fest will include mobile eateries from all over the city, while the Daley Plaza events will also host boutiques with goods such as clothing and shoes for sale.

For anyone who eats lunch in the Loop on a regular basis, the ability to quickly (and easily) find multiple food trucks in a single location can serve as a refreshing break from the area's usual restaurant options. Sure, you'll probably have to wait in a bit of a line, but after a long morning at the office, you could probably use an extended breath of fresh air.

Check out the dates for this year's food truck fests and start looking forward to your next lunch break.
