Jason Vincent, who left Nightwood in 2014 (it later closed in July of last year) announced today that after two years out of the business, he'll be opening up a new restaurant, Giant, at 3209 W Armitage Avenue in Logan Square this spring. The restaurant will focus on "elevated Midwestern fare" with an evolving menu with dishes varying in size. Menus will be left on the table throughout the course of the meal, lending a relaxed and unique feel. The beverage program will have an extensive wine list and a classic cocktail menu.

Along with Vincent, Ben Lustbader (Lula Cafe, Nightwood and Publican Quality Meats) will be joining as a chef-partner and Josh Perlman (avec) is joining as general manager and partner, and will also head up the beverage program.

This opening follows a recent spate of culinary developments along Armitage Avenue, including Sink Swim last spring, Ugo's in October and Dos Urban Cantina in November. When Giant opens this spring, it should solidify the area as a dining destination—it's already a great place to go on a cocktail bar crawl.
