Lost Lake is turning into a tiki disco for one week

While the crew at Lost Lake heads to the Caribbean for some cocktail R&D, Bobby Heugel from Anvil Bar & Refuge in Houston, Texas will be taking over Lost Lake between February 28 to March 4.

You won't be able to get Paul McGee's usual rum-packed concoctions during the takeover, but Heugel will be delving into cocktail history to come up with his own menu for the week, with a Texas Tiki Disco theme. The list will imagine a world in which tiki and disco had been allowed to coexist—a place where killer drinks and a lively dance floor aren't mutually exclusive.

The list of drinks is still being finalized, but we've been told to expect classic cocktails with tropical flair and Houston-inspired punch bowls. Those familiar with Anvil's offerings will be happy to hear that Heugel is bringing his "Break Even" program to the city for the week, which allows customers to have a one ounce pour of a high-end spirit at cost in the name of continued cocktail education.

Thank You will supply a modified menu of snacks for the week, including throwback dishes like shrimp cocktail, deviled eggs and pigs in a blanket. We'll certainly miss our regular tiki drinks, but we're excited to see what Heugel has to offer during his brief stay in Chicago.
