The three best things to do today in Chicago

1. See the next big names in comedy

Laugh it all off at Chicago Underground Comedy. Each Tuesday, up-and-coming comics throw down their material in Roscoe Village's Beat Kitchen. These comics won’t stay underground for long. (Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont Ave, 9:30pm. $5)

2. Attend story time at Sidetrack

Sidetrack is more than the super-packed Boystown mainstay you know on the weekends. The bar also hosts the fantastic monthly storytelling event, OUTspoken! Stop by to support LGBT performers as they take the mic and share their stories. This event is 21 and up. Doors open at 6pm. (Sidetrack, 3349 N Halsted St, 7–9pm. Free)

3. Jazz it up down by the river

Round up some good company to relax riverside at the Hideout’s Riverwalk concert series. Devil in a Woodpile performs everything from hot jazz to the blues tonight, so kick back and unwind. (Hideout Riverwalk, 35 E Riverwalk South, 5:30–7:30pm. Free)
