Description
Dutchman Tom Holkenborg goes by the much catchier name of Junkie XL. A veteran of new wave and industrial bands and the record production game, Junkie XL fell in with the big names in the DJ game: Sasha, Kleinenberg and Tiësto without quite fitting in with the dance scene. He's remixed Elvis, Madonna and used Dave Gahan and Robert Smith on his original tracks. He's been known to put a foot back into rock whenever possible working with vocalists like Peter Tosh and Gary Numan. On tour, he plays “live,” improvising on his own original multi-track, big-beat and electro creations. See A night in the life, page TK. Tonight, he's joined by Chicago's own electro-rock sensation Tommie Sunshine, who's made a career of sexing up new wavey bands into dance floor assassins. The Darkwave Disco DJs, sexy lads themselves, spin opening sets of the latest gothic-rock bangers. Jesse James and Russ are in the Penthouse and DJ-Spin and Sativa work the dome.
