    Description

The Joffrey's new artistic director, Ashley Wheater, says, “The Joffrey has always been on the cutting edge. This program will take our audience—and our company—into exciting, transfixing new territory.” To back up these statements, the company is presenting three works as part of the American Moderns program: Mehmet Sander's Inner Space (from 1992); Lar Lubovitch's ...smile with my heart; and Twyla Tharp's Waterbaby Bagatelles (from 1994). Seems like Wheater's cutting edge is slicing slow motion.

Awesome show! It's such a varied experience, dance-wise. As well as being amazingly fresh and fun. Inner Space and Cloven Kingdom are my two favorites for sure!
