Green Music Fest announces initial lineup and bike-powered stage

Is this a street festival or a 'Portlandia' sketch?

Wicker Park's Green Music Fest announced its first wave of bands this morning, confirming groups like Guided By Voices, the Features and the Soil & The Sun for the annual street festival on June 21 and 22. While we're excited to see how many two-minute songs Robert Pollard and company will be able to blow through during their set, we're most impressed by the lengths that the festival is going to in order to promote its eco-friendly message. This year's fest will mark the debut of the Bicycle-Powered Music Stage, where eight stationary bikes will provide the energy for amps, microphones and monitors. Cycling teams, spinning groups and festival attendees will be invited to hop on the bikes and help power the stage and will also have the chance to win a new Fat Tire bike donated by New Belgium Brewery. Does anyone else think that this sounds like a Portlandia sketch?
