Description
We would have gone with “throwdown,” but either way, jazz fans, perk up! This inspired billing pits Jim Baker's Quartet, which plays Hotti Biscotti (Brian Sandstrom on bass, Mars Williams from the Waitresses on sax and Steve Hunt on drums), against another all-star free-jazz group (this one featuring Jeb Bishop on trombone, Dave Rempis on sax, Kent Kessler on bass and Michael Zerang). Because we're in the why-not? world of the avant-garde, the bands will play simultaneously (just like Ornette Coleman did for his Free Jazz record) for two sets.
