
Gretchen Kalwinski

Before joining TOC full time, Kalwinski contributed to the Books and Features sections, and freelanced for Stop Smiling, the Chicago Reader, Venus, UR Chicago, Centerstage Chicago, and Punk Planet about topics ranging from restaurants to theater, indie rock, health, and DIY projects. She holds an English degree from Indiana University and has worked as a bookseller, editorial assistant at the University of Chicago Press and permissions coordinator for the Poetry Foundation. Kalwinski has been a featured reader for the Guild Complex and Dollar Store reading series, and studied privately with poet Diane Di Prima. Her poetry and short fiction have been published in THE2NDHAND literary broadsheet and Paterson Literary Review, and she is cofounder and coeditor of Literago.org, a literary website.
