A son of immigrant Iranians, Parsi was born in New York, grew up in east Texas, and studied literature at Swarthmore, Johns Hopkins and Duke, where he earned his Ph.D. After grad school, he spent five years in England and taught creative writing to college kids. Parsi's plays have been staged in London, New York and San Francisco, among other lovely locales. He's also published fiction and criticism.
