EAT OUT/DRINK UP EDITOR
COVERS: Restaurants, bars, wine/beer/spirits, specialty-food retail, grocery stores, farmers'
markets, cooking classes, food- and wine-related events.
Equally obsessed with both Lester Bangs and M.F.K. Fisher, Shouse spends most of her dimes on edible and aural art. She has worked as the music editor at Velocity magazine and associate editor for CS, where she started a column focusing on the personal stories behind classic Chicago restaurants. Her freelance food and music writing has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, the Chicago Reader, UR Chicago, RedEye, Metromix.com, Local Palate, URB and Vice. At Time Out Chicago, she is dedicated to exposing readers from all walks of life to culinary adventures in Chicago's colorful neighborhoods. Shouse is a graduate of Columbia College.
Ask me about: Where to score the spiciest Szechuan string beans, the best South Side barbecue, the Pakistani grub that has cab drivers lining up, and whether it's worth blowing your rent money on Charlie Trotter's.
