Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Two mistresses and a wife gang up on a cheater in this so-so revenge comedy. Kate (Leslie Mann) discovers husband (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) is playing away when Carly (Cameron Diaz) turns up at the door wearing little more than hotpants and a come-hither smile.

And so an odd-couple friendship is born: hysterical, kooky wife Kate and level-headed lawyer Carly. At first their antics are kind of amusing. That changes when they discover a second mistress: enter model Kate Upton, struggling to keep up with Diaz and Mann. The plot lurches between madcap dashes to foreign climes and cliched revenge montages (hair thinner in the shampoo, laxatives in the scotch, etc). Small roles for Don Johnson and Nicki Minaj feel pointless, and while Coster-Waldau is great at being the smooth guy, he could use a dose of idiocy in the comeuppance scenes.

There’s a strong whiff of ‘The First Wives Club’ and an even a sprinkling of ‘Working Girl’ here – but instead of updating the genre, ‘The Other Woman’ rehashes it, bringing little more than a few giggles and a dash of glamour to the table.
