Buy a piece of Bleeding Heart Bakery

I suppose it's easy to buy a piece of a bakery—you just go in and buy a cupcake, like the one pictured above. But superfans of [node:149791 link=Bleeding Heart Bakery;] now have a slightly more, um, intense option: The bakery has put the massive 16-foot neon sign from its Belmont Avenue location for sale on eBay. The opening bid: $1,000.
Bleeding Heart is moving from 1955 W Belmont to an undisclosed location, and the sign isn't moving with it. “Our new building is only 10 feet tall, and the sign is 16 feet. So unfortunately I don’t think the City of Chicago would let us lean it against the side of the new building," Bleeding Heart's Michelle Garcia says. "But it’s cool and huge. We had a lot of people ask about...buying it, but nothing really concrete came up about it with regards to an actual buyer. We’re hoping eBay solves the issue.”
According to the eBay listing, Bleeding Heart spent $3,500 restoring the sign. By that measure, the starting bid is a steal. But there is one other crucial detail: The buyer has to remove, and transport, the sign himself.
