Chicago Restaurant Week reservations now available. The annual dining event runs January 24 through February 6.

You're probably still figuring out where to eat for New Year's Eve, but reservations for Chicago Restaurant Week opened today, so now it's time to start thinking about that too. The "week" is actually 14 days (January 24–February 6) and the promotion features $22 prix fixe lunch menus and $33 or $44 prix fixe dinner menus.
When making reservations, here's what to look for: restaurants that offer menu items from their regular menu, not special items, which are usually less exciting than what the restaurant typically offers. Also, check pricing—sometimes the special restaurant week menus are more expensive than if you went and ordered a la carte.
After scanning the list, lots of restaurants still have TBD menus, but a few highlights pop out: GT Fish & Oyster for lunch, where you can get clam chowder, a lobster roll and key lime pie for $22; Cafe Spiaggia, where the lunch menu includes mozzarella and prosciutto, a pizza and dessert for $22; and Embeya, where papaya salad, seafood stew and almond custard tofu is $22 for lunch.
