Coffee and beer are two things many people see as a daily survival necessity, so why not combine the two? DryHop and Intelligensia thought the same and are releasing their collaborative brew "My Mirrors Are Black Cuban Coffee Stout" this Wednesday.

The stout boasts a blend of Intelligentsia's Yirgacheffe Ethiopian coffee with guava, blueberry and candi sugar in the mix. So, while it's not a literal Cuban coffee, we can only guess it's the concentration, not the origin, that consitutes a "Cuban" coffee here. Regardless, we're guessing this would make quite the beer float.

Coffee and beer lovers alike are invited to come try the new brew. And those not looking to drink on a weeknight can try the coffee straight, prepared by either V60, Chemex or Café Solo. Not uncharacteristically, Intelligensia isn't foolin' around with their beans and brewing.

My Mirrors Are Black won't be the only coffee-beer blend, guests can also enjoy four other fusions in a flight. Beers include Allagash's Coffee Curieux, Founder's Breakfast Stout, Left Hand's Week Sauce Coffee Porter, and Stone Espresso Imperial Russian Stout.

Between the caffeine and alcohol, we suggest you don't plan on going to bed early Wednesday night.

DryHop Brewers. 3155 N Broadway. Nov 13, 6pm–2am, coffee bar 6–10pm.
