MOST INSPIRED KIDS MENU Big Bowl

Wait, what’s that? A kids’ menu void of burgers, pizza and buttered noodles?! It’s no wonder Big Bowl reigns among our readers. The Chinese/Thai mini-chain caters to families by placing an emphasis on what’s important to parents (entrées without trans fats and corn syrup, and heavy on fresh veggies and wholesome ingredients) while giving kids palate-pleasing choices that aren’t tired (satay, make-your-own stir fry, housemade chicken noodle soup). Young diners can get free refills of milk and juice, but not soda. Choices are presented on a cute-as-can-be puzzle place mat, and prices range from $4–$7. The result: Everybody leaves full and happy. 6 E Cedar St (312-640-8888) and other locations.

Other nominees Frontera Grill, SUSHISAMBA, Custom House Tavern, Prairie Grass Cafe
