Chicago Summerfest Luau meets pig roast meets live sets by bands like ’80s cover heroes Sixteen Candles at this street festival, which will see more than 25,000 guests—many drinking piña coladas served in hollowed-out pineapples. The event, a benefit for the Mid North Association, also features booths of local artists selling their wares. June 25, 26. Sat 11am–10pm; Sun noon–9pm. $5 suggested donation. 2045 N Lincoln Park West (773-665-4682).

Green City Market Chef’s BBQ Benefit Snag tickets now for undoubtedly the most anticipated of park parties: roughly 100 chefs whipping up their best BBQ recipes with food sourced from the iconic Green City farmers’ market. You’re also aiding the market, since proceeds go to ever-expanding programming. Toast to that at the bash with beer, wine and spirits sourced, of course, from the Midwest. July 21, 5:30–8pm. $100. 1790 N Clark St (773-880-1266).

Brunch at North Pond A 2011 James Beard finalist, chef/owner Bruce Sherman is as fresh as his porcini mushrooms at this Lincoln Park staple, which overlooks a duck-filled pond. Brunch, served Sundays from 10:30am–1:30pm ($32,) is the best time to enjoy the scenery; the standout of Sherman’s latest menu is an upscale riff on bagels and lox, subbing in smoked rainbow trout filet for the salmon and teaming it with a zesty preserved-lemon cream cheese, red onion jam, pumpernickel and capers. 2610 N Cannon Dr (773-477-5845).
