Downtown Sound: Bob Mould

Formerly a leading member of Hüsker Du and Sugar, Mould is an alt.rock icon with many guises these days: house music DJ, spoken-word sage, Daft Punk-influencing guitar hero… Tonight he plays solo material with his band, and should lob in a few classics from his old groups too. He has a new Sugary record out on Merge, Beauty & Ruin. Evanstonian Jason Narducy (formerly of Verbow) opens with his act Split Single, a power trio with Britt Daniel (Spoon) and Jon Wurster (Superchunk). Whoa. That's on the record.
