1. Bob Dylan
United Center

Zimmy goes big, playing to Bulls pennants while unpacking tunes off new disc Tempest, which marks half a century since the pioneering folkie first started ruffling feathers. Nov 9

2. Grizzly Bear
Riviera Theatre

The Brooklyn art-rockers took a breather after 2008’s beautiful Veckatimist, and are better for it. Their lush, harmony-laden indie-pop swept us away a couple weeks back on the Colbert Re…, er, StePhest Colbchella ’012 RocktAugustfest. Sept 30

3. Blondie + Devo
Chicago Theatre

What year is it again? We never expected to find Debbie Harry and Mark Mothersbaugh on the same bill, let alone in this tony Loop concert hall. Together, they promise, like the name of the tour, to “Whip It to Shreds.” Sept 26

4. Beth Orton
Athenaeum Theatre

Orton’s become the unlikely torchbearer for the English folk tradition. Her contributions to the late Bert Jansch’s The Black Swan were a reminder of that, as is the lovely new “Magpie” off Sugaring Season, her first album in six years. Oct 8

5. Ninety Miles
Symphony Center

Don’t bother swimming to Cuba when you can see the consummate trio of vibist Stefon Harris, saxophonist David Sánchez and trumpeter Christian Scott right here, reprising the sparkling chemistry captured on last year’s titular Latin-jazz collabo. Nov 30
